My RE//DEUX

Seven months ago I took a leap of faith and chose me over all else.  I went against everything that seemed logical and ordinary to chose a life that I hope to be proud of.  I chose courage and fulfillment as the basis of this new, Existential Odyssey.  When I took this leap, I deviated from my well paying career as an airline pilot to see why there was this general void in my life.  I had money, a high status job, beautiful home, yet something was missing in spite of these great accomplishments. 

In my early 20’s I had lived a life full of adventure, I followed my gut, and put myself out into the world.  I traveled all across the globe, all seven continents, and made countless friends along the way.  I caught moments of this life’s energy while watching the sunset on Mount Everest, felt the truest sense of terror while being growled at by a wild tiger in Nepal, and experienced my first sense of unfiltered freedom while hitchhiking in Iceland.  I was no stranger to this “life force” that surrounds us all, yet as I got older, I chose to abandon my needs in order to fulfill dreams that didn’t align with my authentic self. 

Two years ago I started my journey within, taking a good hard look at every aspect that makes me the person I am.  There was good, there was ugly, but ultimately I made the conscious choice to show up for myself and choose to create my own change.  The journey has not always been positive, there have been ups and downs, progress and setbacks filled with moments of doubt, but it has been overwhelmingly beneficial for myself and those close to me.  I took steps each and every day to try and be the best version of myself, which brought me to where I am today…alone with my two cats living in a travel trailer. 

Unconventional?

Yes…but my journey and the progress I’ve made, make all the hard days worth it.  Come experience life with me as I navigate it as best as I can, and together we can experience what being human is all about.
